WELCOME To The

Vandalia

Church of Christ

Our Beginnings

The Vandalia Church of Christ first met on Easter Sunday in the spring of 1955.  There were about 45 souls in attendance for the first worship service.  These first  assemblies were in a local funeral home and later in a local store.

The congregation began to grow rapidly in those early days, enough to quickly start a building program.  The Vandalia congregation began worshipping in our current building located at 626 West National Road, a short time later.

Our current minister is Bruce Gleim.  He and his wife Joan began their work with the Vandalia congregation in August of 2001.

Our Current Work

We offer Bible Study for ALL ages on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening.  Weekly Worship services are held Sunday morning and Sunday evening.  We have a weekly Men’s Bible Study, bi-monthly Ladies’ Bible Class, a Secret Sisters of Encouragement group, Knitting for a Purpose group,  various Fellowships throughout the year and from time to time, special activities for Young Adults and children.

During the first week of June each year, we have our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS).  There will be additional information about VBS and each of the other activities listed above as we continue to build our web site.  For more information, call the church building at 898-6263.

Our Future Plans

We currently have a piece of property located on Dixie Drive here in Vandalia.  Our hope is to build a new facility on this property to help us in our continuing efforts to spread The Gospel in Vandalia and the surrounding community.
